Using a special technology, components were selected - ceramides, which form the basis of the lipid layer, and essential fatty acids were introduced into the tonic to enhance the barrier function of the skin, perfectly complemented by the active moisturizing complex Sodium PCA. The unique moisturizing konjac-mannan, as well as Aloe Vera, contribute to the balanced care and nutrition of the skin, moisturizing it and enhancing its natural protective functions.
Why does skin need ceramides?
Our skin constantly needs moisture, therefore, it needs to be retained inside somehow. This function is carried out with the help of its own extracellular matrix, which should normally contain about 50% ceramides, 25% cholesterol and 15% free fatty acids. And ceramides play an important role in this process. They are also signal molecules that set the time of cell death. In addition, ceramides are also a natural defense against dangerous microorganisms and pollution. The highest content of ceramides is recorded in the stratum corneum, that is, on the surface of the skin. Normally, ceramides should make up about 40% of all lipids in the stratum corneum, but, unfortunately, this figure is not eternal. With age, the amount of ceramides in the skin decreases, and this is one of the reasons for the increasing age-related dryness of the skin. In addition, aggressive cleansers that disrupt the lipid balance, as well as medications, such as those to reduce cholesterol levels, also cause dryness. In theory, the latter should reduce lipid levels only in the blood, but in fact, their use also affects the skin. The amount of ceramides also decreases with extreme diets. The fact is that the diet must contain a certain amount of essential fatty acids. If they are lacking, this negatively affects the condition of the skin: dryness and peeling appear.
P.S. Sediment in the form of white flakes may occur due to the high content of ceramides (ceramides) contained in the tonic.
Directions for use:
Apply to a cotton pad, apply with light, massaging movements to the skin of the neck and décolleté. Use in the morning and/or evening.
