Tarot The Great Circus and Intermedia Le Grande Circus & Sideshow Tarot
The deck consists of 78 cards, illustrated in the style of circus vintage posters. Each tarot archetype is represented by a corresponding circus image: the Emperor is a Horse Trainer, the Hermit is a tramp clown, the Sun is a flaming figure of a tiger leaping through a ring of fire.
“Little Arcana” offers scenes of the circus everyday life and each suit represents its own aspect of life in a circus. The suit of the Cups is a world of performance under a big peak. Swords show strange and sometimes frightening hearts, jugglers and sword and fire eaters. Each symbolically charged card will carry the fortuneteller deeper into this mysterious realm. The coins are a business show - a “front-end” with its managers containing a troupe, and a “peddler” selling their “goods” and popcorn in the stands. No one enters this sphere of illusions without the work of the Wands, which show the reverse side of the work of a circus person or animal in order to raise a tent and create this palace of wonders. Racks and tent stakes are the magic wands of this suit, and no show can exist without the elemental magic of sweat and tension.
